As you all know I started
my new career with MBA. I am feeling very difficult in time management. I am
left with many assignment, seminar, case study, presentation etc. to complete. I
am seriously not getting what happened, where I gone wrong. So I take a 7 days experiment
on
“Time Management”.
Day 1:
·
Complete most important task first
·
‘Learn’ to say NO to myself for any task
The golden
rule of Time management is to first complete the most important task first. Identifying
the two or three crucial tasks to complete in the beginning.
I applied
these golden rules from today. Morning when I woke up I listed my most crucial
task to be done and I started to work on it.
After having breakfast I use to waste at least
45 min in the morning, by talking with friends and I felt that is wasting my
precious time. So I thought of utilizing these 45 min for reading & writing newspaper
and collecting information which may be helping me in future projects.
When I am
back from the collage in the evening, I was full tired and use to take rest for
a while then I realized to make another experiment called saying no to myself
so that I can start writing assignment on Business. Once i completed the entire
task and my mind was free because there is no burden of doing work in next day.
Day 2:
- Devote your entire focus to the task at hand.
- Get an early start.
- Don’t allow unwanted details to drag you down
Find a
quiet place to work or listen to some music that helps you to concentrate. Its so
much nicer and less stressful to get an earlier start on something. It isn’t
that difficult either, if we just decide firmly to do it.
Today
morning I planned again my task and I started to work on it. I work with full
concentration. I divided my work by keeping time. I started today's home work
today itself. I dint postpone it.
We often
allow projects to take much, much longer than they could by going too hung up
on small details. I simply concentrate on my task. Nothing else should exist. I
immerse myself.
- Turn
key tasks into habits.
- Leave
a buffer time between task.
- Be
conscientious of amount TV/internet/mobile
Writing is
a regular task .when we rush from task to task; it’s difficult to appreciate
what we’re doing and to stay focused and motivated. Time spent on browsing, using
mobile can be one of the biggest drains on our productivity.
Along with
today’s task I understand student have to develop writing habit. Today I have
made it a point to write something every day for long time. I make this as my routine work, by this my writing skill
and speed increase which help me during while writing exams. I take break in between every task it will
help to learn more and remember the things what I learn today. I avoid using
more internet/mobile today it help me more to finish my work in time.
Day 4:
- Utilize weekends, just a little bit
- Do something during waiting time
- Lock yourself in
- Commit to your plan to do something.
· We have
to utilize our weekend in the best manner, I am utilizing it by keeping more tasks
to complete and I am recalling my work again and again in my mind so that I am
serious and work to complete it.
Whenever
you feel free time is there have a habit of reading anything new. This helps us
to improve our knowledge and help in our interview time. I am reading the articles about different topics which is enhancing my knowledge and I am happy about this.
While doing
work avoid getting destruction and never give excuses. Sometimes I think for
getting something done it’s better to be under lock alone in room.
Don’t
fake on your own plan to do something.I committed and resolute to my work. While
doing work I dint fake to my plan and work.
Day 5:
Make a "Time Dairy"
Today I am
planning to keep a time dairy. I am going to include everything that I am going
to today.
I Wake up
at 6 am. Complete my all daily morning work including breakfast before
7:45 am. Till 9 News writing and revised the topic that thought yesterday. 9 am to
5 pm evening I had class. When I am back I had snacks and I sat for studying till
7:30 pm. Later I finished my dinner and started preparation for upcoming
assignment. I slept at 10:30 pm.
At night
when I saw my dairy I was happy that I dint waste time and I am happy about
myself that I started learning of managing time.
Day 6:
- Time based, To-do list
- Let your computer help
·
Create a To Do List that includes
how much you will spend time on each work. List are always helpful, but when
you add keep in mind how much time each task need and make a note that how much
time you take. Give prioritize on task that naturally that you can do
immediately & finish it fast before the time you keep.
Technology helped get you into
the time bind in the first place, so use it to help get you out from your dought. Whenever you don’t understand the things make a proper use of computer. This
is the only the best device which answer your question quickly.

Day 7:
Today I am going share my seven
days experience as a whole.
The one important thing I realize is time
management is not a difficult task. It’s all depend on who we take the work and time.
“WORKING
SMARTER, NOT HARDER”
This is the only key of managing
time. Managing time isn’t about squeezing as many tasks into my day as possible.
It’s about simplifying how I work, doing things faster, and relieving stress.
I can bet you guys all this
experiment that I do in seven days will really help more to manage time and I promise,
I will follow and apply this to all kind
of work every day and makes my life
stress free and lead a happy life.
